Pier Point & Knight's Fish & Chips
Fish & Chips

Last night (Tuesday 8th October), we were honoured to attend a charity fundraising dinner in Devon which saw friers from the UK’s Top 2 Fish & Chip Restaurants collaborate in the kitchen.

George Moray, manager at Knights Fish Restaurant (UK’s No.1), travelled from his busy restaurant and takeaway in Glastonbury, Somerset, to join the team at Pier Point Restaurant & Bar (UK’s No.2) Torquay, Devon, led by head frier Charlie James.

The award-winning chippies – both KFE customers – prepared a three course meal comprising a starter of locally landed and caught seafood from England’s coast, followed by fish and chips, homemade tartare sauce and mushy peas.

The event was part of England’s Seafood FEAST, an annual celebration that showcases the whole range of locally landed and caught fish and seafood at over 30 eateries across Brixham, Paignton and Torquay.

The two teams did a fantastic job, serving over 40 guests, with around £1,000 raised for the Fishermen’s Mission.

Lorraine Arnold, owner of Pier Point Restaurant & Bar, said: “It was a fantastic night and it really shows the industry in its best light. It’s what the industry is all about: collaboration, sharing ideas and showcasing that to a wider audience. It was a win, win for everyone last night.”
