Family Business Awards

We are delighted to add another trophy to our cabinet having won East & East Anglia Family Business of the Year at the FBU Family Business of the Year Awards 2024.

Held in London at the Royal College of Physicians on Wednesday 19th June, the awards recognise the achievements of great family firms, large and small, across all sectors of the economy.

We triumphed over strong competition from seven other regional businesses, demonstrating our commitment to innovation, sustainability, entrepreneurship and community involvement.

The judges were particularly impressed with our supporting evidence, which highlighted several key achievements: we supply the most energy-efficient frying equipment on the market, have raised over £100,000 for charity, achieved carbon neutrality for two consecutive years, and trained more than 1,000 people in the art of frying fish and chips.

Paul Williams, Managing Director of KFE, comments: “It was a fantastic surprise for KFE to win the award for East & East Anglia Family Business of the Year because the quality of the competition was so high. The level of entrants was highlighted by Furniture Village, which has more than 50 stores and 1,200 staff, winning the overall national award.

“I am both delighted and proud that we won this award and it is so gratifying for all our staff who work so hard to enhance the KFE brand.”

Paul Andrews, Founder and CEO of Family Business United, added: “KFE are deserving winners of the East & East Anglia Family Business of the Year Award for 2024 with the judges impressed by the creativity and innovation that has been part of their evolution to date.

“They also shine in their commitment to sustainability and energy efficiency since becoming carbon neutral in 2023.”

Jennifer Leeder, an award judge and a partner at Birketts, sponsors of the East & East Anglia category, added: “KFE are a great family business who like many other family firms work with and support plenty of other family businesses across the UK, as well as supporting the wider community in which they operate through extensive fundraising activities.

“KFE really is a special business and deserves all the accolades associated with winning this award.”
